Operation Christmas Child Collection - January
Every year at RISE, we partner with the ministry Operation Christmas Child to collect items for shoeboxes that are sent around the world to children in need. To optimize our impact, we collect items throughout the year! There will be a different suggested donation item each month, but any donations will be gratefully accepted.
January’s suggested donation are WOW gifts. After Christmas sales are a great time to shop! Please remember, your donation needs to fit in a shoebox with other items!
Look for our new Operation Christmas Child collection bin by the front door.
Young Adult Summer Hangs

Hour of Prayer
At RISE, we believe prayer is powerful and essential. On Wednesday, July 8th from 6:30-7:30 PM, we will be having another Hour of Prayer! It is truly a special time to be with one another and lift up prayer requests and praises to God. Everyone is welcome, and you will not want to miss it!
MKE Better Together
Milwaukee is full of churches and ministries doing incredible work every day—serving families, mentoring youth, helping those in need, and sharing the hope of Christ. MKE Better Together is a city-wide event that brings those efforts together and shows Milwaukee what can happen when churches unite around a common mission.
RISE has been asked to be a part of the Kids Zone, which will include bounce houses, games, crafts, popcorn, and plenty of fun for families. Specifically, we will be manning the Craft Table and an Angry Birds Station! More importantly, it will create opportunities for people to connect, feel welcomed, and experience the love of Christ in a practical way.
There will also be stations at the event to pray for people and plenty of opportunities to connect and bring joy to others!
The event will be held in Washington Park from Noon to 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 25th.

How to Participate
• Take an ornament from the tree.
• Each ornament includes a suggested gift item for our upcoming shoebox packing party. Some ornaments also have a QR code to make shopping easy.
• Feel free to purchase multiples, make substitutions, or add extra items.
Shopping Tips
Amazon and Hobby Lobby have Operation Christmas Child-friendly items, and Target's Back-to-School sales in July are a great place to find gifts.
Please remember that not all items marketed for OCC are suitable. Shoeboxes are approximately 11½" x 7" x 4½", so be sure your items will fit and can be used individually.
Please Do Not Include:
Soap, candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, toy guns, knives, military figures, food, seeds, fruit snacks, drink mixes, liquids, lotions, medications, vitamins, breakable items, glass containers, or aerosol cans.
Return Your Gifts
Place your ornament and purchased gifts on the table outside the Operation Christmas Child room in the Fellowship Hall by July 26th.

Baptism Sunday
One of the most impactful days in the life of many believers is the day we follow Jesus into the waters of baptism. We will be having another Baptism Sunday on August 9th. Baptism is an amazing opportunity to publicly proclaim your love for and your faith in Jesus. We believe it makes Jesus smile when we obey Him.
Matthew 28:19 says:
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…"
If you have placed your faith in Jesus but have not yet been baptized as a believer, we invite you to take this next step.
You can reach out to Pastor Jay or fill out a “Let’s Keep in Touch” card, available on the tables at the back of the Sanctuary or in the Welcome Center, and place it in the offering box at the back of the church.

RISE Family Fun Day
Mark your calendars for Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 29th from 12–4 PM! This is an all-church event, and we’re so excited to welcome our church family and community for an afternoon of food, games, and fun.
We can’t do this without your help! We will have more information on how to help as the event gets closer.
When it comes to food, we will be providing burgers and hot dogs, but we would love if you could bring a dish to share!
Don’t miss out on this incredible event for the whole community!
Discipleship Training
One of the most important aspects of our faith walk is equipping ourselves for Kingdom impact! We believe discipleship is not a program—it’s a way of life.
This training is designed to prepare you to walk with another person, one-on-one, in a way that is relational, intentional, and centered on Christ. You don’t need to be a Bible scholar or spiritual giant. You simply need to be available, faithful, and grounded in God’s Word.
If you have a heart to see others grow in their faith, join us on Saturday, June 27th from 9 AM to 11 AM for discipleship training.
Parkside 23 Mission Trip Fundraiser
On Wednesday, June 24th, you can help raise funds for the Summer Mission Trip by stopping by Parkside 23 in Brookfield for a meal! The fundraiser will run from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Scott Woodin will be at the restaurant for the duration of the fundraiser. Please be sure to give him your receipt so the mission trip gets credit for your meal.
In addition to a fantastic meal, there will be a silent auction that includes sporting event tickets, restaurant and private club certificates, and more!

Wednesday Night Bible Study
Starting Wednesday, June 17th, Pastor Jay will be leading a 7-week Bible study on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm at RISE. This will be a great opportunity to stay in the Word over the summer! Stay tuned for more details!
