Operation Christmas Child Collection - Year Round!
Every year at RISE, we partner with the ministry Operation Christmas Child to collect items for shoeboxes that are sent around the world to children in need. To optimize our impact, we collect items throughout the year! There will be a different suggested donation item each month, but any donations will be gratefully accepted.
Please remember, your donation needs to fit in a shoebox with other items!
Look for our new Operation Christmas Child collection bin by the front door.
Operation Christmas Child Silent Auction
Each year, we host a silent auction to support Operation Christmas Child—a remarkable initiative that delivers gifts and shares the message of hope with children in need across the globe.
We invite you to be part of this amazing cause. If you have access to event tickets, vacation getaways, or any valuable items that could help us raise funds, your contribution would be truly appreciated.

Young Men's Bible Study Begins
Young men, you’re invited to join us for a time of Bible study, fellowship, and meaningful conversation at RISE! We will be going through the Book of Philippians.
We’ll meet every other Wednesday evening from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at RISE.

UW-Whitewater Tailgate and Game
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3rd for a tailgate party at Perkins stadium in Whitewater, WI!
The tailgate will start around 11:00 AM, and the game starts at 1:00 PM. Free tickets to the game will be provided.
Click here if you want to purchase a parking pass ahead of time. Many of us park in lot 11. The tailgate will be right outside of the stadium!

Soles for Jesus
Soles for Jesus collects new and gently used shoes to send to Africa. Many schools require children to wear shoes in order to attend, and there’s a great need among adults as well.
We are continuing to collect shoes throughout the year. Please drop them in the Soles for Jesus box near the front doors OR bring them to the volunteer event.
We’re so excited to tell you about another opportunity to serve at the Soles for Jesus warehouse on Saturday, October 10th from 9 to 11 AM. Please be on time and sign up by Sunday, October 4th to let the Soles for Jesus staff leaders know how many volunteers they will be having. You can sign up below!
The warehouse is located on 91st and Brown Deer Road in Milwaukee (8835 W Heather Ave, Milwaukee).
Membership Classes
Are you newer to RISE? A great way to learn more about our vision and values is to attend our Membership classes.
While there is no obligation to become a member, it is a great way to learn more about the heart of RISE and our ministry. Classes will be held after 2nd service on October 11th and October 18th. Each session is different, and we encourage you to attend BOTH to become a member. Lunch will also be provided.
Hour of Prayer
At RISE, we believe prayer is powerful and essential. On Wednesday, October 14th from 6:30-7:30 PM, we will be having another Hour of Prayer! It is truly a special time to be with one another and lift up prayer requests and praises to God. Everyone is welcome, and you will not want to miss it!
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Decorating
On Saturday, October 24th immediately following Saturday morning Bible studies, join us in Fellowship Hall for a fun opportunity to decorate the inside of shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child!
OCC’s theme is “Fun, Full, and Personalized,” and there are so many creative ways to make your shoebox special. You can decorate it around a theme or simply add your own fun and personal touches.
We’ll have some decorating supplies available, but you’re also welcome to bring personal supplies or meaningful items you’d like to include, such as:
o Photos of yourself or your family
o A favorite prayer or Scripture verse
o Stickers, drawings, or other decorations
o A personal note to the child receiving your shoebox
Even something as simple as a photo and a handwritten note can be a special blessing. We’ve heard that some shoebox recipients treasure these photos and notes well into adulthood!
You’re welcome to take your decorated shoebox home or leave it at church until our Packing Party.
Come ready to have some fun, get creative, and help make an Operation Christmas Child shoebox personal and meaningful! We hope to wrap up by 1:00 PM! We hope to see you there!

Operation Christmas Child Bake Sale
Baker and Sweet Treat lovers! On Sunday, September 20th, we will be having a Bake Sale to benefit the Operation Christmas Child ministry. We will be selling pies, cakes, bars, cookies, and more. All serving sizes will be accepted.
If you would like to participate, please deliver your donations by 8:30 AM on Sunday, September 20th. Thank you for supporting this amazing ministry!
Men's Fall Bible Study Begins
Join the men of RISE this fall for a 10-week Bible study as we explore The Unfolding Mystery: Discovering Christ in the Old Testament by Edmund P. Clowney. Together, we'll discover how the entire Old Testament points to Jesus Christ and deepen our understanding of God's redemptive story from Genesis to the prophets.
Have you ever finished reading an Old Testament passage and wondered, "What does this have to do with my life today?" This study will help answer that question by showing how every major person, event, and promise in the Old Testament ultimately points to Christ. As Jesus taught, all of Scripture tells His story—and this study will help you see that truth in a fresh and meaningful way.
Study Dates: September 19 – December 12
Time: Saturdays, 9:00–10:30 AM

The study book is $15. If the cost is a hardship, we are happy to provide a copy at no charge—just let us know.

Tuesday Women's Bible Study Begins
Join us for a 10-week Bible study led by Cindy Loomans exploring the lives and faith of women throughout Scripture.
Our first gathering will be a time of fellowship, catching up, and learning about the study plan. The actual study will begin the following week.

What We’ll Study
Beginning September 22nd, we’ll spend 10 weeks studying women of the Bible, wrapping up the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
We’ll use Max Lucado’s Ten Women of the Bible: One by One They Changed the World as a resource. The study guide provides plenty of thoughtful material and questions, but you won’t be expected to complete the book’s homework. You’re welcome to purchase a copy if you’d like, but it is not required.
Each lesson will be self-contained, so if you need to miss a week, you can easily jump back in the following week.
A syllabus with Bible passages to read each week will be provided at our first gathering.
Come ready for fellowship, meaningful conversation, and a deeper look at the women God used throughout Scripture. We’d love to have you join us!
